Bidra med feedbackFood was just OK Service was poor. Even though restaurant was only half full given a table only one foot from another couple. Would not return as better restaurants close by in The Junction.
I had another enjoyable night at Sesame's for my mate's birthday. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. The prices are good and the service friendly. Sesame's never disappoints.
Went here as a group of four ladies. We started with piccolos of pink moscato which was lovely. The staff are so helpful, they had to come back so many times as we had not caught up for a long time and couldn't read through the menu without chatting!Anyway we finally decided (with the help of the staff) to start with San Choy bao to share which was so good, and crab cakes. We had to fight over the fifth! For main we again ordered a few things to share - the potion sizes are great. We got a red prawn curry which was so fresh, a chilli basil beef and a chicken dish which I can't remember the name of but it was so beautiful- not a scrap was left although we couldn't have eaten any more! Oh and a bowl of rice to share which was plenty. Will definitely go again... Although, we went as an adult group, two ladies in the group regularly bring their families with children
I'm a Foodie and I'm truly Asian, living in Newcastle.I stumbled upon this restaurant when I got lost in the Junction area. I thought I'd give it a try cause I don't really find a lot of authentic Asian food here in Newie.it says on the headline of the restaurant that it's Malaysian, Chinese, and Thai cuisine.I ordered typical Asian food, Chow Mien. I chose the combination type which means all meat in. Chicken, pork, beef, and seafood.Chow mien, according to my Chinese culture, it's actually referring to stir fry noodles though it means Fried Noodles. But here in Sesame's, Chow mien, it literally means Noodles that are fried (I'm talking about crispy noodles that they serve here). They serve the crispy noodles with thickened sauce that has all the meat.Fried noodles is meant to be like Fried Rice, not crispy, it's just stir fried. So yea I'm kinda disappointed. But I guess I have to accept that Sesame's serves Asian Cuisine that is catered to the Western customer. And that's ok! :)I'm just an Asian craving for home food!My friend ordered Laksa, and she is half Asian and she said it's pretty good.To end, Sesame's is a pretty good place to eat if you have extra money :)
We hadn't tried this restaurant for several years, but six of us enjoyed a banquet dinner - and found it even better than we remembered. The strength of the restaurant is it's wide range of Asian dishes. It serves quality Chinese, Malaysian and Thai dishes and these can be mixed if you select a banquet. It's not easy to please six people, but there were no complaints from our group. The service was excellent; the staff friendly and helpful; and the cost particularly reasonable. The restaurant is relatively small, but this is part of its appeal. We recommend this one - and we will return.
