Cody's Original Roadhouse Sumter

Had dinner here on holiday with my father and stepmother (which live in the villages); very cool restaurant! I loved the Roadhouse style decor and ambience, and the fantastic lake view. The place was very crowded and busy (to be expected), but we asked and received an outside table. Live music... he was decent, but honestly I felt he played too many slow songs; but maybe that was beyond his control. The 12oz Prime Rib was STELLAR! Cooked a perfect medium rare, with au jus and creamy horseradish. We really enjoyed the salad, and I love my hot chips! Funny story... a couple who left the restaurant went past our table; the lady patted my back and said hello, then I got a chip I had, and said, "Thank you for me?" I said, "Sure, enjoy it!" We had a good laugh about... beloved a place with this kind of energy!

Come to Florida once a year and look forward to dinner at Cody?s. That was not a pleasant experience. After sitting in the terrace we ordered our drinks and food at the same time. Two soda and a water. Two of us should have the salad with our meals. The waitress then went right behind us to the table and took her order before she set the orders. No problem with that, 20 minutes? Another waitress stopped asking her if we could get our drinks. Our original waitress brought her a few minutes later. No mention of our salads. The couple behind us had brought their food to them before they even got their salad and the Lord finally sent his ribs back into the kitchen. Not sure why. Another waitress stopped and asked for our salad. After we waited for 45min, we were brought with us our rolls and salads. No explanation from our waitress or a suffering that took so long. 5 minutes later our food comes. I had ordered the Sirloin medium, the picture in the menu shows pink during. Steak was cooked well. Didn?t sends it back out of fear, it would take another 40 minutes. I would have had more understanding if we had a ?hey sad that it took so long? we are short? But nothing. The waitress seems to be more annoyed than anything.

Came on a day trip to the villages and ate at Cody's. The food was good, the prospects better, and the staff excellent. I had the best rib it was delicious, but there was a big ol' hunk of fat that could have been cut off. The cake at the end of the meal was gigantic and rich. 9/10 will be back.

Great atmosphere! Although Codys was super busy on a Saturday night, we used her two for a drink at the bar and before we knew we were sitting. I wish I could remember the name of our waiter. He ensured that we had a good time, he got our party of 4 orders right and made sure he stayed on our needs. The food was delicious. 3 of us had steaks that were perfectly cooked. My mother got the ribs, which was a large part, much for her to take home and serve as another food. Next time we're in the villages.

We had the Best waitresses. Started out with Amber. She was Awesome from the get go.. Then her partner came to help her because she was running around taking care of a party of thirty. They worked perfect together. The Food was on point. My husband had the prime rib and it was Delicious. He also loved his fried mushrooms as a appetizer. I had the scallops and they were delicious as well. I will Def make the hour drive back to dine here again. Very clean, no complaints at All. Thank you to the manager for hiring the best Staff. ?
