Vardaris - Thessaloniki

This restaurant in Thessaloniki is the best. I waited three whole years to come back due to COVID-19, and man, it was worth it.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! As an American who does not speak Greek, the owner was very kind and helpful. The staff were equally friendly, and the women were beautiful. The hamburgers had a delicious steak flavor, the chicken kabobs and gyros were tasty, and the freshly made salads were satisfying. The owner was also very welcoming to my dog and even treated him to some delicious burgers.

My family has a very nice experience with the boss and staff of this restaurant. My husband had an accident, tripped on a step and injured his nose, an arcade above his eyebrow and a region of the cheekbone. Before I arrived, they had already prepared ice in his bag and called an ambulance. They were very accommodating. We were able to drink nesfrape one of the best prepared during our holiday this year in Greece. Our sons had lunch here while we were in the hospital. Everything wrapped up well! Thanks to the staff for your kindness! Btw ... my sons said gyros was great!

There are not too many restaurants that catch my attention, but the VARDARIS most definitely has mine, for it is by far an institution in its own light, having been established in 1969, and marking its spot in the downtown heart of ancient Thessaloniki, which makes it easily accessible to locals and tourists alike, their wide selection of meats, poultry, and vegetables tempting even the most stubborn of palates, for the food is simply top notch, putting them on a par with some of the best restaurants in the Western Hemisphere, at a price level that is comfortable to your wallet, the selections being of the freshest quality possible, and leaving one with a feeling of satisfaction, each dish made by experienced employees who know their craft quite well, of which the VARDARIS is known far and wide for, making it the primo eatery in Thessaloniki. I heartily recommend this landmark to any and all who enjoy wonderful and delicious food!
