Bidra med feedbackGreat different choice for dining in Mid Coast Maine!
This place was wonderful when it first opened but has gone rapidly downhill. My last two visits were terrible. The kitchen is beyond slow. No one in your party gets their food at even remotely close to the same time, and there is no explanation as to when the missing meals might arrive. The food, when it arrives after at least a half hour wait, is at best ho hum, some dishes not at all appealing. To top it off, they have extremely poor ventilation and thus have to keep the door propped open or it becomes too smoky. You either freeze or are eaten alive by mosquitos (maybe both! , yet you and your clothes will still reek of food when you finally get home.
The restaurant is small but nicely decorated. However it ends there. The menu is well written and you think you’re going to have a lovely meal but the food prepared doesn’t exactly match the description. Meals take a long time and don’t expect everyone at your table to be served at same time even though other tables get their food served together. We had a really bad experience and luckily we don’t live in the area so will never return. If you’re driving through Thomason and want food go to The Cafe for better food and better service.
We were impressed. All of the food seemed very fresh. The menu changes frequently, and they have unique offerings. We'll be back.
Our server was friendly and congratulated us on our 25th anniversary as soon as we arrived. Food was delicious -I especially loved the carrot ginger soup-so fresh and had just the right amount of flavor.
