Unwelcoming atmosphere. Woman has no manners. Acts like she's doing a favor for taking your order. Inside is small and dingy. Do not bother ordering uber eats, cuz she'll cancel. Matter of fact don't bother coming here at all. Food isn't even that great.
With the Congee Wong at the Promenade T T closed down this is a very nice option if you want your standard Chinese fare. Located in a small strip mall on Centre Street, it will be easy to miss. There is a splashy bakery (Lumiere) in the same mall so look for that and you will find Ann's 1 door over. This is a tiny place really geared towards take out. They have a couple of tables for eat in but it's really tight.Menu is reminiscent of what you would see at Congee Wong/Queen. Lots of fried rice, noodles, congee etc. It's a popular place, on one visit I popped in to get take out and was promptly told they had sold out of chow mein. I got the rice noodles (ho fun) and noticed it was not fresh noodles, it was the dry kind reconstituted. Food is not highly flavourful so some might want to add a little salt or chilli oil.Prices are slightly better than Congee Wong for some items.
I recently moved to the area and was happy to find a Chinese food option nearby. This place seems to mainly focus on takeout, as there are only two tables and instructions for takeout orders. I placed an order in advance and was able to pick it up within 10-15 minutes. The prices were average, with my fried rice costing around $15. Unfortunately, I found the rice to be a bit stale and difficult to digest. It left me feeling pretty crappy afterwards. It's possible that it was just an off day, but I would need to return to confirm.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant! I called to ask if they had beef egg foo young and the girl said yes. When I placed my order for that and deep fried shrimp, I ended up receiving only shrimp egg foo young, as that was all they sold. The girl didn't hear me correctly and they didn't have the fried wontons I wanted, only oven-baked. There were no apologies for the mistake, and I ended up spending a regrettable $44. Please think twice before dining here.
