Sainsy's - Thurrock

I tried Sainsys for the first time and was not disappointed. The pies were large and filled to the brim, the mashed potatoes were delicious, and the gravy was fantastic. I ordered for pickup and couldn't find parking, but the staff brought the food out to my car, which was greatly appreciated. I will definitely be returning for more. The food was so good that I didn't even have time to take photos - it was devoured as soon as it arrived on my plate!

I frequent this restaurant often, but have been given incorrect orders in the past so I always check my food carefully. During my last visit, I ordered 2 triple pie with triple mash and liquor, as well as 2 double pie with single mash and liquor. When I arrived at my father's house 60 miles away, I realized that we were missing one triple mash. It was disappointing to see that the order was not accurate once again, especially since I was still charged the correct amount. It would be nice if the restaurant paid as much attention to getting the orders right as they do to the billing.

I had never tried pie before and it wasn't what I expected. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes and the mince seemed to be from a can. My English friend said it was nothing like the authentic version. Overall, it was pretty flavorless.

This is predominantly a pie and mash place, but they do jellied eels and hot eels as well I like the latter with mash and liquor. As it's in the foodcourt, all the plates and cutlery are plastic not ideal but understandable. The quality of the food at Sainsy's is good and the service is always with a smile. Efficient too. And a good cup of tea.

I bought 2 pie and mash to take home for my son he said he enjoyed it , I think it’s over priced only want the pie and mash but still had to pay for the liquor that didn’t make sense to me . Surely it should be cheaper . The food court I can’t stand it’s so busy and messy .
