The Crooked Billet - Thurrock

The customer service at this restaurant was terrible! There was a lack of hospitality and we had to wait 20 minutes for a drink while standing at the bar. They served other people before us who hadn't been waiting as long. When we politely complained about the wait, we were told rude remarks and that they would refuse to serve us again. We had a much more positive experience at the Peterboat.

We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday party here and had a wonderful evening. A big thank you to Leah, Shannon, Tony from the bar staff, and their colleague in security for their excellent service. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. From start to finish, we had a great time and my daughter and wife were thrilled. I highly recommend this venue for any occasion. We had trouble finding a suitable venue with security in our local area, but had no issues here. The staff even cleaned up for us at the end of the night. I believe our money was well spent and I encourage others to give them a call for any event.

There was ample parking available at this restaurant, which is always a plus. Just be cautious of the ramps when walking to the entrance if you park nearby. Two parties were happening simultaneously in separate rooms, with plenty of security and friendly staff on hand. The lighting created a cozy atmosphere in the pub. The party food provided by the restaurant was especially delicious. There were plenty of tables and chairs for those who preferred not to stand or dance. The venue was clean and the rooms were spacious. However, the house red wine could have been improved.

Despite not knowing much about the food at The Crooked Billet, my family and I decided to give it a try for Sunday lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of the food, although we were a bit disappointed that they had run out of beef. Overall, our experience was very positive. The staff was friendly and efficient, and we would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I recently dined at the Crooked Billet and was pleasantly surprised to discover they offer two meals for ten pounds. My wife and I both ordered the steak meals and were extremely impressed. The steaks were served with chips, onion rings, mushrooms, fried tomato, and salad - and everything was cooked to perfection. Despite my current health limitations, my wife and I plan to make this a weekly Tuesday tradition. Five stars from us!
