Walmart Bakery - Ticonderoga

I visited the store late on a Monday evening to pick up a cable for my computer. The place was mostly empty, with just a few customers and several employees around, some of whom were busy buffing the floors. As with many Wal-Marts, the customer service left much to be desired. I struggled to find the part I needed, and although there were two employees at the registers in the electronics department, they were more focused on having fun and chatting than on helping customers. Eventually, I found what I was looking for and headed to the self-checkout, which was quick and straightforward. There was also an employee supervising the self-checkout area. The shelves were well-stocked and organized, and the entire building was clean. The floors were spotless, and the outdoor area was tidy as well, which was quite impressive given it was late winter in a region with plenty of snow and mud.

Opened 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year! Very convenient!

Considering it's a discount chain, it's decent, but don't anticipate anything extraordinary. The prices are great, but you get what you pay for. The exception is their prime steaks, which are the best you'll find for miles. Unfortunately, it's unfortunate that this establishment has pushed away many other businesses in the area.

On one level I appreciate Walmart for having everything that I would need while camping in this Paradise of Lake George. But on another level they came in and crushed all the local businesses that I remember well growing up. So as un-American as it is to shop at Walmart, I do appreciate the fact that they have everything and at a reasonable price. From groceries to clothes to camping and automotive repair, this store has it all.

This place has a Redbox machine and is an affordable store for residents in this part of the Adirondack Mountains to purchase food.
