Restaurant Cactus - Timişoara

You are looking for fine food, you feel like having seafood, you want a waiter in a suite waiting for you... this is not the place. However, if you want a very good selection of German beers, very friendly staff and owners, a...nice atmosphere with retro music in the background or a beautifully made carving with pommes ... Search no more Cactus is the place for you. Location not very central, in the courtyard near the university campus of Timisoara you will find this place. Parking on the street outside the restaurant when you arrive by car. Service very well the owner took care of us... and as a small restaurant it was reserved for the 12 of us. Eat simple and tasty... nothing special, but very good. We were also there for the beer. Prices are pocket-friendly... we paid cash, so note that the card is not necessarily an option. Overall a very beautiful place with a great atmosphere and if you want a nice evening with friends, I recommend you try it.

If you look for an intimate place, quiet, to spend some quality time with your half, family or friends, this is the place. The food is very, very good, tasty, innovative. I found here meals I couldn't think about. The places is held by a...very nice couple, Coca who is in charge with the serving and manages the guests very well and kind, and Relu the Magnificent Chef. I went here a few times and I will definitely go again. Not to easy to find, but once you've been there, you won't forget it. Last, but not least, you won't feel ripped of, it very good food for the price.

I ate here 2 nights in a row. The food was OUTSTANDING. The second night I had Mexican Chicken. Having lived in Mexico, I know authentic Mexican food. This was not even in the remotest terms authentic Mexican food. Let me tell you what it was: ONE OF THE BEST MEALS I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!! I am not kidding you. It may not have been authentic but it was out of this world delicious. I ate very slowly because I didn't want it to ever end. I am dead serious. The chicken was tender in a sweet red sauce with vegetables, and potatoes cooked in a way I have never seen or tasted before, maybe boiled first and then roasted to put a crust on the outside, infused with butter somehow. I was with a large group both nights and they really aren't setup for this but we were patient and it was worth the wait. Can't recommend it highly enough! For an American, really cheap too! Only about $4 for the average dinner entree!
