Havneby Kro - Toender

This restaurant is very busy but has a happy atmosphere with smiling customers. Food choice good and presentation good. Basic tables and chairs and not fine dining but overall good food and recommended place to eat.

Food was bland and service was a bit slow and they missed multiple ordered items... The real chocker came when one of the staff starting eating straight of the buffet, taking chicken nuggets barehanded, dipping them in remoulade and eating it in front of guests in the middle of the dining room....

Poor service. More interest in works staff than in the costumer's quite expensive. Good local roemoe Bear

Not only the all you can eat buffet makes the Kro stand out from the rest, but a good choice of local fare, with venison and Danish meatballs in a rich sauce, to pastry encrusted cod fillets, the chef was asking our opinions on their home made scotch eggs and traditional recipe Cornish pasties, which were excellent (and at no charge) . Very close to my home pasties in Padstow Cornwall UK . The chilli ribs took some beating, and the basic burger was a treat, served with a salad and chips at no extra cost. The selection of wines and local beer was good and a fair selection of spirits, bottled beers and cider is available if you wanted.

We were out walking, and stopped by at Havneby Kro Restaurant just for a couple of beers before walking on. The restaurant was completely empty, except for us. So we just sat down at a table. Have you reserved? , they asked us. We told them no, we just want a beer . We were told to move to the bar area. So we moved to another section of the big house, and sat down. Again we were asked if we had reserved the table, and as we had not, was asked to move to a corner table in order not to obstruct the waiters. We complied again, had our two rounds of beers, and left the restaurant just as empty as it was when we entered. We didn 't try the food. The beer was good (most Danish beer is), but the service; well, there weren 't any.
