Bidra med feedbackLacking service, small portions, a three star restaurant thinks it 's a five star restaurant. The atmosphere in the lower part of the restaurant is very nice. Servers were nice too but did not pay much attention until it came time for the bill. My beer glass stood empty in plain view without asking me if I wanted another for over 45 min. Beer choice, acceptable. Avoid the marked up 'cheap ' red wines. Full Appetizer, Onion Rings, I think there were 6 of them...2cm radius..maybe. Main Courses, acceptable but I expected more to eat. Dessert, Creme brulee, came in the correct dish size except for the depth of the actual dessert in the dish was about 1.5cm. I don 't mind spending ridiculous amounts of money on a restaurant, for date night, of which I have heard this to cost. But for that I expect service and quality to be at a higher standard. I didn 't listen to what I was told about this place, you don 't have to either. Dinner for 2 1100NOK.
The steak was over cooked and the crème brule Was cold. It was not worth the money and time
Not much to write home about. The food is ok and the service is not the greatest.
To say disappointed would be an understatement. I almost didn 't write this review until my stomach became upset the next day. So now here I am, sitting in front of my computer with significant stomach discomfort trying to save at least one hapless potential customer from suffering my fate. The first part of my unfortunate experience came when I walked through the front door. I looked around the seemingly deserted interior for a good 10 seconds wondering if the place was actually closed, when finally someone in the upper half of the building (near the bar area) spotted us (I had brought a date) and called out to the man who was supposed to be our waiter. I was quite surprised when there was movement on my right side and a man who was practically camouflaged in a corner suddenly sprang to life and greeted us. With no smiles or charm whatsoever, we were seated next to a window with a wonderful view of a dumpster behind the building next door. As our waiter handed us our order ticket he knocked over a wine glass shattering it to bits across our table. He apologized, cleaned up the mess and quickly came back with a couple of small bread rolls which looked even more sad considering the size of the basket they were in. Part two comes in the form of our main course. We both ordered steak, one medium and one rare. The medium came out half medium and half rare, while the rare proved to be the toughest steak I 've ever experienced. My date gave up on hers when she reached the rare portion of her steak and I gave up on mine once my jaw had become sore from intensive chewing. I tried digging into the rest of my meal. A baked potato, corn, and a side salad. Sadly, the side salad was the most enjoyable part of the meal as everything else was just bland or too difficult to eat. Eventually our waiter came back to collect our plates and after dropping a fork in my lap, came back with part three of the bighorn experience: The creme brulee. As I looked into my slightly broken bowl, I immediately noticed that my date and I had received wildly different dishes despite asking for the same thing. Where hers seemed to have been made perfectly, my creme brulee was completely slanted at the top and didn 't even reach halfway up the bowl. On top of that, when I broke the surface with a spoon, a milky liquid broke the top. Not a good sign. She finished her dessert and I finished my soup. We thanked them, paid the bill, and then walked out for the first and last time. If you want good food, go to the harbor. There are plenty of options in Tønsberg that won 't make you sick or filled with regret.
Delicious food. Good service. Not sure that the portion size was okay because you still have space for the desert.
