Food took a while pepper steak and rice special for the day so probably on steam table and a burger and ff food was hot and for today's world great improvement pepper steak was just ok not alot of seasoning. I was looking for more love in it! But over all I would try it again. And the waitress was very nice thanks and the 7 up pound cake is bomb
The food was delicious. I have been otr for the last 8 weeks.Ordered the roast with gravy, cabbage peas, dirty rice with the cornbread muffin.Worth the time and money.
There's no place in Toledo that combines everything that I love about the black experience into one atmosphere. It's more than just great food and service... Ijs.Food: 5/5
From ordering to plating takes a while, so be prepared to stay. However, everything is fresh and made to order so it's worth the wait. Be advised: ya better bring your appetite because the portions are very large! My wife and I were there on a Wednesday about 5pm and we were the only patrons, other than quite a few take outs. The service was great, the atmosphere clean and relaxing and the food perfectly seasoned. On that note, taste it before you salt it.I am from the South and can testify this place knows Southern food. Both my collard greens and black eyed peas had ham hocks in them and their fried catfish is some of the best I have had in years.If you make it in, tell them I sent ya. They don't know me yet....but they will!
This was my first and last time. For starters they don't have dine in service on Sunday. I wish I had known this before driving 30 minutes out of my way. The food was lukewarm at best. The smothered pork chops had too much salt on them. The spaghetti was virtually meatless, just a lot of sauce and noodles. Very disappointed. Don't waste your time.
