Bidra med feedbackTook my wife for early Valentine's meal. Spinach artichoke dip was outstanding (her fave appetizer and they nailed it). I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed and green beans. CFS was...okay. Mashed was good but had some ball of something in it (might could have been potato skin that rolled up on itself), green beans were legit. Wife discovered gum stuck to the underside of her side of the table (so that was kinda gross but that was another guest not the restaurant). All in all, we left stuffed and the food was good if not fantastic. Worth the drive from Klein and I'd go back.
The menu isn't terribly extravagant, it's mostly American staples like steak, burgers, sandwiches, salad, pasta, and some seafood. The execution is consistently strong and that's what I think makes this restaurant popular. In addition, the servers are very good. Ours the other day was a six year veteran of the restaurant and it showed. He was very accommodating, knew the menu well, could answer any questions and make suggestions about the items, and knew when to talk and when to allow us time. Drinks were regularly tended to and he brought a little humor to the discussion too. I've been to higher end steakhouses where the servers were not at least as big a foodie as I am and it showed. In our visit our party tried out some salads, the fish and chips, and the chicken fried steak. The salad selection is actually very good here and the flavors are great. The chicken fried steak is not Houston's biggest, but the preparation is excellent, with a slightly spicy and nicely fried batter. The sides are all also well made.
Dinner with family, service was good food was very good and you will not go home hungry. The Jalapeños Bacon Mac
Great food, cheap prices for a fully equipped sit-down restaurant. Well-trained and friendly waiters and a large menu selection. We were equally impressed at the level of the service if we only feed the two of us as if we bring extended family for birthday parties. Love with options for sitting on the large terrace when the weather is pleasant, the bar seats are fun for the two of us and we enjoyed the smaller quieter room from the side of the main dining room. So many wonderful choices!
I have wanted to try Republic Grille for a while now because I had heard rave reviews about their food. I'm happy to say that it did not disappoint. I ordered the Chicken Woodlands, which features a lemon-based sauce with sun-dried tomatoes and a touch of goat cheese. The combination of these flavors harmonized perfectly in the dish. The potatoes were creamy, and the grilled vegetables were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The menu was impressive, and I can't wait to return for another meal. The service was also excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a lovely spot for out-of-town visitors or for anyone looking for a nice meal.
