Goen Japanese - Toronto

By far the best delivery sushi I've had and some of the best sushi overall in the GTA. Everything was super fresh, great portions and excellent value. They have a good selection of creative Maki rolls and I appreciate they cut them into 10pcs so they're smaller and easier to eat. Everything qw ate tasted exceptional, can't wait for dining to open back up as I'll definitely be heading back!

Today I ordered their Chicken Katsu Bento along with sushi and sashimi. I grew up and lived in Japan for 30 years Goen reminds us of a quintessential neighbourhood sushi joint we used to go to when we lived there. Food was very fresh, flavourful and we enjoyed everything as always. Simple food prepared well and service is always very pleasant and homey. We live in the same neighbourhood (lucky us! so we always order for pickup at their website and walk over (we 're glad we don 't have to use those food delivery services they might be ok with processed fast food but not the best option for this type of freshly cooked food . Today the hostess said they are finally open again for indoor dining. We often say do you want to do Goen tonight? and we 'll do Goen again next time in the restaurant. Delicious sushi rice is perfectly cooked and fish is fresh. Chef trained and worked for many years in Atami (well known resort town near Tokyo . Hostess (also many years of experience in Japan is friendly and fun to chat with in Japanese.

I placed an order for takeout for the ?Sushi Bar Tray E? and it was delicious! We replaced the California rolls with the hamachi avocado. When we came to pick it up, the waitress was very kind and quick with the transaction. They also gave us 10% off for pickup as they were promoting their soft opening. For the food itself: the sashimi was fresh and the nigiri and maki rolls were great! We finished the tray so quickly and it was super satisfying. Would definitely come again for take out or try dine-in because the place looked so cozy!

Finally picked up from Goen great spot! Fish was super fresh, generous portions. The nigiri was really good and the rolls were all good. Not too rice heavy, a lot of good food at a super fair price. Will be back!

Fantastic fresh sushi, followed my food allergy request, and even gave me a mochi gift! If you're ever able to pickup some food here don't hesitate. Two thumbs up!! Thank you! Editing my review to add: I'm not trying to tell you how to run your business, but I really think you should put your prices UP!!! The quality you offer and very generous portions and free gifts you always give, I want to pay you more. ??
