Kanga - Toronto

Kanga was a 2 minute walk from where we stayed on vacation. We decided to try it out due to the good reviews and we were not disappointed. The pies are small but filling. The service was good.

Yum! This place is near my work and I've had people bring me gift meat pies...lucky me. The pies are delicious, flakey pastry, savoury fillings, the stuff food dreams are made of. We stopped by today on the way back from "The Book of Morman" to pick up some pies for take away. I had the pepper steak and my wife the ground beef, both rich and filling. I've never actually eaten there, it's tiny, counter + stools. The pies are great, don't miss this Aussie delicacy.

I was eating a pie today in the store of gerrard street. I was very excited because when I was in new zelanda I always ate meat pies and after a year I started to feel sour! I chose the canadian pie, with pieces of steak and bacon, but in fact the meat was drowned in the gravy, I was not satisfied especially after spending almost $8 for a pie that in new zelanda would cost me 3 or 4 dollars. the meat (the little one there was) was very good anyway! and also the pastry was very good. I was a little bad for the poor amount of meat and the high price of the pie.

I loved this place when it first opened and often purchased frozen pies to take home. Recently visited and took home frozen pies. The quality (and quantity) of the meat and poultry was awful - tough and not enough. Nowhere near as good as it was, say a year ago.

Some of the best pies I've ever had. I visited their Sun Life location in downtown Toronto. Had the pepper steak and butter chicken pies and both were amazing!!
