Bidra med feedbackI had high hopes visiting this restaurant, and it lived up to all of them. The cuban beer here is incredible, and I will be tracking it down on my own. The appetizers, namely, conch fritters and yuca fries, are mouthwateringly delicious, and their medianoche (a traditional Cuban sandwich) is out of this world. Stop here for a quick bite while you're in the area and you won't be disappointed.
Um yum. The conch fritters have a little cheese in the middle which I've never had before. And what about those yuca fries?! Did I say yum?!
It was undeniably the greatest black bean soup I've had to date, and the avacado salad was a piece of art too, except that I forgot what palm hearts are and had an awkward time eating them until I finally asked a passing server what they were. Note: Palm hearts aren't delicious. But I know they're healthy. It took some self-convincing. Also - "Tostones" are twice fried plantains - So in love!
My boyfriend and i went to la cubana after a long day walking around Toronto. The place is small but welcoming. The menu is not extensive and mainly pork chicken and vegeterian. I took the chicken platter and my boyfriend the pork shoulder served with rice and beans. Loved the rice and beans - plantain unfortunatly was not available anymore. The chicken was ok but expect better. Coktails are very good and the price is around 12 cad each. Overall satisfied as portions are abundant.
I am not a very adventurous eater but enjoyed La Cubana for a quick bite before our "off broadway" theater visit. This is a very casual and inexpensive eatery. My friend wanted to try it so I said "Ok, I'm game." The waitress was really helpful and patient with me as I explained to her I was "fussy" and didn't likes spicy food. She gave me a great recommendation that was delicious.
