Bidra med feedbackUPDATE;We were here last year and LOVED it. This visit, not to much..Very average and out of stock on a standard cupcake two separate days. Roasted chicken was just ok. nothing special..It is a cool grocery store, but other than that, I would skip it.
Why on earth would anyone make a special trip to see a major grocery chain store? Well, this is not just your run of the mill Loblaws store. This particular location is so much more. For one, it is housed in the former home of the iconic Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team - Maple Leaf Gardens. It is a large beautiful space with high ceilings. Unfortunately it has been totally renovated so none of the old architecture of the the inside is visible but still an impressive space. Then you turn your attention to what is inside this space. It is food - To eat immediately or take home - at the ready. A huge deli counter, a large cheese counter, a bread bakery(look up, it's where the bread is baked) a pastry counter, a sushi/Asian snack counter, a ready packaged to eat refrigerated area with sandwiches/salads/small cheese platters, a large stretch of hot ready to eat meals with pizza, pasta, entrees and sides, a soup bar, a salad bar, AND a Nutella cafe with goodies all made with the hazelnut spread. It all looked good but we only had enough room to try the roasted chicken (awesome), pizza (good but a little dry), pasta bolognese (excellent), mac and cheese(bland), California sushi (very good), maple pecan custard donut(so good), Nutella stuffed croissant(unbelievable), the mixed berry Nutella pizza(even better), and the tea flavored bubble tea (not that great - tapioca was tough). Everything seemed fairly reasonable priced (eg a rectangle of pizza was $4Cdn, a tray of California sushi was $5 Cdn, a Nutella croissant was $2.50Cdn).Of course, if you have some grocery shopping to do, there was a huge grocery store behind all of the food court in the front but we didn't need to buy anything. If you have the chance and are hungry, please go in and try something....anything! You won't be sorry.
Whenever we are in this area of Toronto, we head in for a small snack and a drink. Sometimes we just browse around, looking at the amazing amount of foodstuffs. I just read there is an upstairs, but we've never been up there. We've had their sweet treats a couple of times, and it's fun looking at the assortment of cupcakes and other items. This time, while wandering the store, an employee stopped us, to discuss and hand out re. small package samples of dried crickets! The area with tables and chairs in the coffee/snack area, had some seating of the seats from the original arena! So much to see in this store!
Is easy to find and owns several in the city. is a quality network however sometimes it is not always cheap.
But that's great! Lesupermarché is gigantic! There's everything! a counter with nutellas products, sushi counter. We really find everything and it's a nice visit inside the old leafs garden maple. The lcbo is upstairs. It's a very convenient place.
