Bidra med feedbackThe restaurant has recently been renovated, although it could definitely use an upgrade. The seating consists of uncomfortable, pointed long chairs and tables with plastic tablecloths, which seems odd considering the greasy nature of the Sichuan food they serve. However, the menu is extensive, offering options for both vegetarians and meat lovers, from pork to fish. During our visit, we ordered the sliced fish in garlic sauce as a tasty appetizer, followed by the beef in black bean sauce and the main dish, chicken hot pepper, which was flavorful and had a generous portion size. We also tried the egg fried rice, which helped to balance out the spiciness of the Sichuan dishes. On our second visit, we explored more of the menu and ordered the marinated ribs, which were incredibly tender and flavorful, and the eggplant in chili garlic sauce, a great option for vegetarians. Despite a mix-up with the egg and shrimp fried rice, we enjoyed our meal. Overall, I enjoyed the flavors of the food, especially the chicken hot pepper, and would consider returning. The restaurant could improve its table and seating arrangements, as well as the occasional unpleasant odor. Despite this, the food and service were good, earning the restaurant a rating of 3.5-4/5 and making it worth a return visit.
Very ordinary dishes. Suffered bloated tummy and more. Cheap in every sense of the word. Better try elsewhere. Many other
Selecting Kung Pao Chicken from the lunch menu, this restaurant offers a Sichuan version of a staple, and probably approaches the real offering. Nicely spicy and hot, the chicken was cut from the actual chicken and served on a bed of noodles with white rice and an egg roll. Truly hit the spot for lunch.
We all Obeid in (4) and service was speedy if a little chaotic. All dishes selected were tasty and a very big serve.
Went with two friends who, like me, had visited Chengdu and Chongqing and were lusting after a genuine Szechuan food experience. As a starter we ordered the small Dan Dan noodles ($3.99!) that arrived as bowl of plain-looking thick noodles. However, mix them with the sauce at the bottom and it becomes a wonderful, slightly spicy dish. Then the Mapo Tofu ($8.99) : soft tofu, spiced ground pork, and a lovely, slurpy sauce with Szechuan peppers and chillies. My friends scraped the last sauce out of the bowl. The Gong Bao chicken ($9.99) is very nice but less flavourful. We had lunch for less than $30, free tea, and we had a wonderful time. Will certainly come back, have to try the eggplant and other dishes. Service friendly and efficient. Only cash or Mastercard. Decor has not been refreshed since the 80s, but when was the last time you heard Greensleeves played in a Chinese restaurant?
