The Britannia Trecarn - Torquay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Trecarn Hotel in Babbacombe. It’s a friendly and welcoming place. We visited around the Christmas season, and it was a delightful experience. The meals were great, and the Christmas dinner was exceptional. Our rooms were clean and tidy, and we appreciated being on the first floor as requested. We definitely recommend this hotel; the staff is friendly and attentive. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The rooms are a bit dated, but I really loved the atmosphere of this hotel. There's a lovely garden where you can enjoy a drink outside in the summer sun. The decoration is unique, themed around Josephine Baker, which I found fascinating. I enjoyed exploring all the corridors and admiring the art displayed throughout the hotel. It's also very close to the cliff-top railway that takes you to Oddington Beach.

The hotel could use quite a bit of tender loving care, particularly in terms of its paintwork. However, our room was very clean, and the towels were white and fluffy. The reception staff were very good. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed during our stay.
