Bidra med feedbackGreat Place Dont Listen to the bad reviews this place was breathtaking. Had my first trip to Cancun last week and let me tell u this place did not disappoint. Everything from great views to great restaurants(Food was amazing @DaVinci and Brazilian Steakhouse)to great staff. Francisco was an amazing bartender. Enrique Jorge were great waiters to name a few. Everyone was so helpful w/ordering food or w questions I had about activities I was interested in doing. Cant wait to come back again.
Pros nice pool area, nice waiters Javier and Miguel. Cons food options are limited and not that great. No night activities, drinks are watered down with generic unknown alcohol brands. The website show two good restaurants Brazilian and Italian good luck trying to get a reservation) and when you pass by the restaurants there are many tables available. My guess is that they leave the tables they sucker for a timeshare. Don't get the isla mujer with convoy adventures they take you to a Buffet that looks like it's a soup kitchen. Then they finally take you to island mujeres for 1.5 hours ThAts it! Finally I had to deal with a condescending check out guy named Réguldo, he should be fired. No customer service skills what so ever!!! Never would o recommend this place.
I rarely write reviews but I would like to warn others to not spend their money here. Our first day there, the AC in our room was broken. It took hours for someone to even come and fix it while the room was heating up from the 95 degree weather. They left a ladder in our bathroom and were in and out as we were getting ready for dinner. When we returned from dinner it still wasn 't fixed. We had to call again and wait again for them to actually fix it. No one ever apologized. An entire day in the heat with no AC for a $600+ room is unacceptable. Each day there were very few pool chairs available. Even when we got up at 8am, the only chairs left did not have an umbrella. In our 5 days stay, there was never a beach chair open. The mini bar listed on the website is a non-refrigerated cabinet with warm beer and soda. This was never restocked. The liquor at the pool and bars was watered down and even medium shelf liquors like Tito 's was reserved for exclusive members only. There is no mention of this on their site. Upon check out we brought up our concerns for the second time and asked for any sort of refund or compensation. The man at the front desk said no. When I asked to speak to a manager, he said the manager was in a meeting that ended after we needed to be at the airport. I really don 't like being taken advantage of and this hotel did just that. I will never spend my money at another Omni hotel.
Had a great vacation at Omni Cancún. Everyone at the resort were very friendly, attentive and helpful. They have entertainment every nights. Once you arrived, you will be greeted by the friendly staff and guide you through the resort facilities and services. Prepare to download the app and you can make every request through that. Da Vinci, La Vista and Pina Grill: dinner only and have to make reservations every day. Pool side bars are good, although the drinks can be very light. probably water down a lot International breakfast is pretty reasonable. There is a cafe which make pretty good coffee and tea with delicious snacks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Omni.
Lots to review here so I will break it down: Room We had an oceanfront room, which had a gorgeous view of the beach and pool. The room was nice and updated. The floors are tile and were SUPER slick, so unless you like shuffling across the floor on what feels like ice, you probably will not like the room. The patio has built in benches but no table or chairs that allow you to enjoy the view. There is NO sound proofing so you hear every single conversation in the hallway at all hours of the day and night. The doors also slam shut since they dont have slow close mechanisms, so you constantly get slamming doors. The tv had a poor connection so we couldn't get a clear picture. Normally this would not be a problem for us since we dont watch tv on vacation typically but it was stormy all week and there was NO entertainment and outside bar closed at 6. We didn't want to get dressed up and hang out in the lobby, which is the only bar open after 6. Service Housekeeping was the star of the show at this hotel. They were absolutely fantastic and did their job well, every day. Other employees were hit or miss. We had some nice employees but overall, it felt like most of them were just meh and indifferent. Food HORRIBLE. The buffet had some of the grossest food I have had since elementary school lunches. Cheese was all processed, desserts bland, and meats fatty. Not much variation in choices and I ate there 3 times in a week. We ate at La Vista and weren't real impressed either. Da Vinci had great food but small portions and they tried pushing expensive wine on you instead of just getting us drinks included in our all inclusive pass. Pina Grill had a beautiful view but closed due to rain several times while we were there, even though it is indoors. We couldn't figure that out until we were told that they don't have a kitchen on site at the restaurant and have food brought in from another restaurant on site......so that made for soggy and lukewarm food. Definitely not the best. The real problem with the food was that it was SOOO limited. There were 2 restaurants open and the buffet. Pina was closed most of the time we were there. YOU CAN ONLY RESERVE RESTAURANTS BETWEEN 12 2P, when most people are out on excursions. With that being said the times we did try right at 12, most reservations were already gone! I later found out that timeshare members get first crack before 12, and apparently they take almost all of the slots. One night we walked down and just asked if we could wait for a table and they let us do that. Another night, we were told absolutely not, even though there 8 empty tables and it was 8:30 at night. We got different answers from different employees. The coffee bar was not open all week. They had a carafe of drip coffee and hot water. There was a plate that looked like it had pastries on it but every time we arrived they were all gone and not replenished this was at 630 in the morning! There is nothing open for breakfast before 7 so if you plan on doing excursions you are out of luck for breakfast. There is NOTHING open on the property before 7 and most excursions pick up before 7. There are not many breakfast places anywhere close by so you might just be trucking it to the 711 for donuts, I guess. Room service menu is abysmally limited with really basic options none which looked appealing. DRINKS watered down, cheap alcohol. What was extremely disappointing and why we won't ever stay here again is that there is NOTHING to do after 6. The hot tub and pools close and so do all of the outside bars at 6 pm. Even if it is raining and cold outside and there is nothing else to do. The only thing open is the lobby bar at 6. There was not much entertainment there either. Just very boring. Everyone wants to be outside enjoying the weather, why limit everyone to one place? WIFI horribly slow connection. Don't plan on doing much work here if you need to. The app for the hotel they want you to use was janky and slow. TOWELS they were out of beach towels several times. Chairs were always taken by people who left towels on them and the hotel did not clear them off even though they said they would. POOL HOT TUB CABANAS BEACH You cannot rent the beach cabanas or thai beds unless you are a timeshare member. They only offer the ones by the kids pool. No thanks. The pools were nice but closed early. The hotubs were lukewarm, even on cold stormy days. The beach had a TON OF SEAWOOD ON IT the workers did try to clear it but the location of the hotel is apparently a draw for seaweed and LOTS OF it. One night after a storm, the seaweed had cleared and we decided to play in the waves to be told we needed to get out by an employee. Not sure why? The store has very limited items. Hardly any sweets on grounds no icecream or treats. All told, we WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN nor would we recommend it to anyone else.
