The Chicken Shack - Torridge

If I could have given no stars I would have! Ordered food for delivery, it arrived in a shocking state, the chicken skin was falling off, it was a greasy mess! Scabby bits of chicken that looked very unappealing. The wings were similar, wet, greasy, skin falling off, not crunchy or properly southern fried. We didn’t get everything we ordered and it was missing 1 can of drink and also 2 chicken strips. Unacceptable quality of food and will never order from here again.

I recently ordered delivery from The Chicken Shack and it was the most disappointing experience I have had when ordering food. The chicken burger, despite being expensive, was lacking in fillings and only had a small amount of sauce. The chips were also soggy, and the chicken wings were unsatisfactory.

Awesome staff, very friendly with a family feel. Love the food, always fresh and cooked well. Always a treat.

The portion sizes have decreased significantly. It is no longer possible to place orders over the phone, and the staff are unhelpful and simply transfer your call from one person to another. This used to be a fantastic place for takeout, but things have changed recently. I would not suggest this restaurant. My last order was both cold and incomplete.

I was completely shocked by the service I received at this restaurant. The Just Eat menu failed to mention that the chicken wings were spicy, so my son and I were unpleasantly surprised when we received extremely hot wings. This left my son without a meal. When I called to address the issue, I was rudely told that they couldn't help me because it was clearly stated on the restaurant menu that the wings were hot. The refusal to acknowledge their mistake, along with their sexist and disrespectful attitude, was unacceptable. A small refund or replacement meal for my son, along with the missing drink that never arrived, would have sufficed for us to consider returning. However, we received no resolution, not even an apology. This experience left us with a very low opinion of their customer service and we will not be returning.
