Garcia's Mexican - Torrington

Every year when we visit from Texas, we make sure to eat here at least once. The refried beans are authentic, and we absolutely love the chips and salsa!

Traditionally, Mexican restaurants use corn tortillas for tacos and tostadas, but this restaurant opts for flour tortillas instead. As someone with celiac disease, I wish there had been a clear indication on the menu that all the options were made with flour tortillas. When we requested to have some corn chips to accompany our tacos and fillings, we ended up waiting 15 minutes for the staff to prepare them from scratch. I found it surprising that a Mexican restaurant wouldn’t have corn tortilla chips available. Additionally, they charged $6.99 for a side of oily corn chips that lacked flavor and were overly greasy. We were quite disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. I understand that running a business in a small town can be challenging, but the owners need to put in a bit more effort if they want to attract customers. I wish them all the best.

We visited with a large group that included many children. Our waitress was excellent and accommodating, making sure everything went smoothly for us!

The first time here. it is a nice, clean place. good eating. good customer service. we're coming back.

Service was prompt enough. The food, however, was very bland and actually made me nauseous. Also overpriced when considering what you got.Edit: Glad to know that the owner takes criticism well. I’m a man, so definitely not this supposed Alex they complained about. I ate as much as I could stomach, paid, and left without complaining. It’s quite sad to see the owner attack someone who left a review simply explaining their experience instead of learning from the criticism and working towards making the dining experience more enjoyable.
