Celsius Restaurant and Bar - Townsville

We were seated by the pool which was quite nice and my partner had the duck which he said was ok. I had the Roast cauliflower steak, which although cooked well, was coated in a dry curry powder and just sat on the top. The...salad of toasted almonds toasted chickpeas, quinoa and baby spinach needed a dressing to tie the meal together, as it was bland and dry. At the end of the meal when we went to pay they added the GST on top (not a nice surprise). Overall, it was a disappointing meal for the price, and would not recommend it to others. You feel cheated when you have to pay extra you are not expecting.

Stayed overnight on business after a long day so the cold beers and quick service were much appreciated. Nothing outstanding about the food good pub bistro standard. Asked for a medium rare steak, got a medium steak. Otherwise would have been a star...review.

Staying at the Mercure this restaurant is between the reception and the pool. We got in late but that was no problem, seated fairly quickly and order taken. The lamb was melt in the mouth and the sauce was delicious and the salad crisp and...fresh. The calamari was perfectly cooked and as my wife pointed out probably one of the best she’s had in a long time! For dessert the coffee tart was tasty and the yogurt and jelly were equally nice.

Staff here are so friendly and helpful. Menu changes regularly and meal choices are simple yet sufficient. Bar is reasonably stocked with a good choice of wines, beers and spirits. Good for breakfast and dinner.

Over a few days I had the pleasure of dinning here for breakfasts and dinners. The roasted lamb shoulder was absolutely devine with the meat easily pulled apart with a fork and melting on your tongue. Equally as good was the Wagyu rump steak accompanied...by garlic potato mash and an amazing pepper sauce. For a special treat I also indulged in the trio of local sorbets and Wow, that was sensational. For breakfast, treat yourself to a delicately prepared and presented eggs benedict with spinach and ham laid over toasted muffins. Well done and thoroughly enjoyed.
