Seashhore - Trivandrum

Like so many restaurants along the sea front, it is pretty basic but the food is good value and the service cheerful.

We were a little overwhelmed by the choice and numerous invitations from the restaurants along the sea front but we were welcomed with such friendliness to Seashhore that we felt very happy with our choice. The host was so accommodating and we enjoyed a lovely meal. Highlights include a full range of drinks, coconut rice, garlic naan, and most importantly, the squid thoran: a delicious combo of finely cut fresh squid, coconut, light spices, garlic etc. Even my husband who is not a calamari fan wolfed it down! A must order!

Had a 'sear fish'. What an absolute joy. Had to return the next night to make sure it was as wonderful as the previous evening. Very good service. Highly recommend. Cash only was a bit of a nuisance though.

We have become regular visitors to this superb restaurant and for ourselves it certainly ticks all the boxes . The restaurant staff and management are extremely obliging and the choice of food is excellent , visiting during a pandemic has its problems but this restaurant has a location second to non overlooking the beach and fishing boats . It’s competitively priced and the quality of seafood as one should expect is top notch , always well presented and cooked to perfection . Being from the UK we’ve enjoyed the truly local feel as the local and visiting Indian people are superb hosts and a pleasure to dine amongst , 2022 feels like a step back in time before the area was overrun by tourists and we’re delighted to experience it this way in a first class restaurant .

I have been visiting Kovalam since the late 1980s, but this was my first time at the Seashhore. During my latest visit, my wife and I made up for not eating here in the past. During our stay in Kovalam, if we ate fish, we ate here. The tandoori snapper was AMAZING. There was an excellent range of fish and I only wish I could have spent another month or two working my way through the menu. It has many regulars no wonder. Very well priced and I simply loved the place. All the staff were very helpful and the owner (Imlil) a friendly host.
