Bidra med feedbackOverall, very good food. This is a large and spacious restaurant. It has a feeling of being in the outdoors with tables well spaced and generally filled with yoga groups. There are plenty of tables and space for larger groups and couples. Food was well cooked and tasty. Waiters needed a prompt at times but overall a good experience.
Suprabhatham is an organic veg restaurant located in the end of one of the alleys opposite Kovalam beach. The restaurant is a little tricky to find if you don't find the alley. We zeroed it on this place after reading rave reviews about it in TripAdvisor. The afternoon we dined we had the whole place to ourselves which resulted in good service. We ordered Fried rice and Pakodas which are made to order and tasted quite good. The menu is pretty versatile catering to both the Indian and foreign crowds that throng the beach. Accepting cards or wallets in addition to cash could bring in more crowd.
First day in here so we asked a local couple who had grocery shop where to go eat nice local kerela food especially the thali they told us about this place was close to their shop also Me n my husband &my toddler grab a table to order for our dinner .we were expecting good tasty food .The waiter came to us n handed over two menu cards to me n my husband I asked for his recommendation n speciality he suggested us few dishes among those we order the Malai kofta n bhindi masala n couple of chapatis . Food came we started eating the taste was jus ok .kofta was too hard to cut with spoon .Bhindi was blank with very big pieces of tomatoes in it . Overall I won't visit this restaurant again .so we some how ate the food n asked for bill .when the bill came on table my husband checked the bill &we found the bhindi masala was written 90 rs in menu they were charging us 160 rs for the same dish .So my husband called The waiter n asked him about he showed us the menu it was 16O rs so these people gave us two menu cards on the same table with different prices so we felt bad n cheated they c the guest then give the menu to make the tourist fool by overcharging them . Won't recommended this place
Tucked away from the chaos of the beach front, Suprabhatam is a delight. Serving great food, reasonably priced for Kovalam(if you’re on a budget). Every time I ate there (which was often) the food tasted great and was lovingly prepared. A few times I had different versions of Palak creamy and green goodness! Also amazing sambar. One of the best I have had so far on my travels through India. I always eat South Indian, but on a couple of my visits with friends, who had the Masala pizza. Not the best pizza you will ever have, but pretty blimmen good for India. The tomato sauce is to die for. The crust could just do with being a little crispier apparently. Staff can never do enough to look after you. Even with my specific requirements for eating, they always delivered. Well worth a trip away from the beach (where all the best local restaurants are).
This unpretentious restaurant had become one of our favourite places to eat over the last few trips to Kovalam. Their mango lassi is certainly outstanding, as are the Kerala and Ceylon parathas. We enjoyed the bhindi fry and the raita, and the malai kofte were also delicious. In fact, most of their food is excellent (we've only ever tried Indian dishes, though), and everything is freshly cooked. Service is nice, if a bit amateurish, and prices are reasonable. The above mentioned meal was INR850 incl. a tip. So why did we only eat there once during our three week stay? The menu hasn't changed at all in several years, it gets a little boring and predictable. It needs updating a bit, as does the décor (and the toilet). Also, a couple of other vegetarian restaurants have caught up or even overtaken Suprabhatam, with one or two much closer to our hotel.
