Cottonwood Restaurant Bar - Truckee

Fantastic restaurant! We tried the salmon and the bastards. The salmon was a bit plain, but the sauce was exceptional. It was so good that we requested more of it. The service was outstanding, and the wine selection was excellent. The bread pudding dessert was tasty, although not extraordinary. Nonetheless, we absolutely love this restaurant!

Lee and Jenn were super friendly and attentive. Wine and cocktails were delicious and the food was delicious. We had French onion soup, Cesar Salat, salmon and ribeye! All perfectly boiled and well flavored. Carrot cake was the perfect end of a great meal.

The waitress was very accommodating as the website description and the actual menus do not match. Everything of interest was served with pork. Which friend and I don't eat. She talked to the cook that changed us with shrimp instead. Very nice of them. The food itself was probably the worst thing I've ever eaten. I think the cook's trying too hard to be fantasies instead of making food. Our omelet was filled with a salad and sweet chilli oil and served with the same side salad, made from Omelette and Haschbraun. The whole plate was covered in this sweet chilli oil. Having filled omelet in a salad makes me just wonder if someone in the restaurant ever tried? And their taste buds lost. So disgusting? We ate our salads, I had not eaten all day, so I did my best to eat over cooked shrimps. I was disappointed as there were many recommendations for good food. But our food explains why this place, with a great view and service on a Sunday was empty.

One of the best restaurants in Truckee. Great for live music. Great beer garden. The vegan meat store is a bomb. One of the best vegan burgers I also had (made from scratch patty). Could improve with vegan cheese and avocado. Really good pommes. Beer list could benefit from a variety. Beautiful views of downtown Truckee.

We had a brunch reservation at 11:15 and arrived five minutes early. Our server promptly seated us, as the dining room was empty, although there were a couple of tables occupied on the patio. She was very friendly, but it took 30 minutes for our drink order to arrive after she placed it. Our food took another 45 minutes to come out. While the food itself was good, it wasn’t worth the long wait of over an hour. It appeared that only two servers were on duty, which is clearly insufficient. If there isn’t enough staff, the owners need to step in and address the issue.
