Bidra med feedbackI've eaten Sunday dinner here every week in October. Portions equal two meals! At this rate I will be tired of Thanksgiving food before it even gets here!
I went to this restaurant for the first time earlier this week. The staff was very friendly upon arrival. The food looks amazing, and there was so many choices. The prices are somewhat high seeing I got a leg quarter that costs 5 bucks for a bag at the store. You get an entree, two sides, choice of bread and a drink. I got the mashed potatoes with fresh, Mac and cheese and sweet potato souffle. I also got deviled eggs, some kind of pie, and key lime cake. The deviled eggs look amazing, but we're dry and bland. The keylime cake was not good at all, I'm not sure what it tasted like, but it missed the mark. The mashed potatoes were bland and not fluffy. The Mac n cheese was bland and greasy. The sweet potato souffle was very good, but a little too sweet (i ordered a lot so some food is not pictured). Overall I was a little disappointed, but I do understand cafeteria style restaurants often don't season too much for dietary reasons. I would go back but would prob stick to veggies for the sides.
Half the time the pecan pie is great, the other half time it’s really gross, when it’s gross it doesn’t even look the same, the pecans on top are mushed into the pie instead of kind of loose on top, when it’s good it’s got like sweet sticky syrup on it when it’s gross it doesn’t even taste sweet and the gross slices have the most disgusting texture and after taste. I don’t know if two different people make the pecan pie or what is going wrong half the time but when it’s bad it’s really bad. And it’s really disappointing because I want the good pie but it’s not worth risking getting a trash slice. Which is where this slice is going, the trash
If you're looking for good southern cooking, this is a great hidden gem. Great atmosphere delicious food very hospitable friendly employees prices /portions are also good . Nice dining room or quick pick-up service. Guess what? Yes, they are open on Sunday's, so please go after church and have family dinner. Cafeteria style restaurant. The smothered porkchop ,and baked Turkey wing are a must!!
It’s decent, I guess. I ordered the country steak (I think that what it is) and it was good enough. It’s basically a hamburger patty with some grilled onions on it. I got the mashed potatoes, which were a little bland, but okay. Same with the macaroni. Don’t get me wrong, I cleaned my plate, but it was nothing spectacular. I might come back though because their fried chicken did look really good. I probably should’ve gotten that. I may have just ordered the wrong thing. The staff is super friendly and nice though.
