Sushi Cuisine - Turlock

My son and I found this great little spot! I love their tempura and he loves the sushi and teriyaki chicken. I have also brought my friend with me and she seemed to enjoy it as well. They are hospitable and the place is always clean when I have dined there. The meal comes with a side salad and miso soup. One can order an extra tempura or two, if they want. I sometimes like to have extra shrimp in addition to the veggies.

Very solid sushi spot in the valley, the best in Turlock in my opinion. The fish tastes fresh and they have a good variety.

My young son and his mom had dined here before and he said that it was very good. He really likes the Teriyaki Sushi roll. He has a very good palate (was raised on Teppanyaki), so I took his recommendation to heart. I then dined here with a friend and tried their Bento Box with Teriyaki Chicken, soup and salad, and Tempura Shrimp. Everything was delicious and served hot. Portion size was good but not overly generous. Pricing is a bit on the higher side but that didn't discourage me from coming back. They do have lunch specials which are a bit cheaper, but the lunch portions are even smaller than their dinner portions. Service was always friendly and excellent. No faults there. I have since dined her at least four more times. The second time the portion size was very small and made me feel ripped off. I also got a to go order for my son and had to eat some of his food just so that I was full. Not cool. On subsequent visits, the portion size was better, but still not consistent with the first dining experience I had here. The taste of the food has always been consistent and delicious. If they would be a bit more generous and consistent with their portion size, they could get 5 stars from me.

TASTY OR WASTEY? Totally Wastey!!!!!! I have been coming to this place for years. For the most part, it's always been quality sushi. After Covid this place has really gone down hill. I've noticed when I go into the restaurant to eat, I get a better served dish. When I order to go, I get less than, and very sloppy food. No more. I'm done for a while.

Ordered sashimi and got an upset stomach and diarrhea afterwards... which is the one thing I fear when eating raw fish. Ordering is a pain. No paper To-Go menu. No online ordering through website. No third party delivery services available. The only way to order is by dining in, calling with your phone or scan a QR code on the website (which defeats the purpose of using your phone to order unless you have two phones or a computer in front of you to scan??!! In terms of service, the lady who completed my check out was professional and nice, but unfortunately will not come back due to food poisoning.
