The Country Creemee - Turners Falls

The ice cream portions are generous, the staff is friendly, and there are great options for walking or parking with a view of the channel and the Connecticut River. It's always worth the trip!

Since moving south we rarely find places with soft-serve, so when we visit we stop by for some of the best soft serve ice cream around.

This is a good place, they are usually pretty friendly and the floor isn't sticky like most ice cream places.

That being said, I used to work in a similar sandwich shop (a more affordable, lower quality one), and I often think about how I would have faced serious consequences for treating customers that way. My best advice would be to avoid going close to closing time. A recent reviewer mentioned that around 7:48 PM (when the place was supposed to close at 8), they were told by staff that they were already closed and were asked to leave rudely. I believe I was there when that happened (unless it’s a common occurrence, haha), and I can confirm their experience. The ice cream was fantastic, and that's what would bring me back, but if a single rude employee could ruin your visit, it might not be worth it for you.

I don't feel welcome here at all, and my children felt the same way! If I could give zero stars, I would! I understand that Greenfield/Turners is predominantly white, but my children and I have never felt so out of place in our lives. The owner was rude and yelled at my two children while they were playing, even though there were other children (white) playing before them. My daughter was very upset and thought she had done something wrong, but I reassured her that she hadn’t and suggested she play a little more quietly. I've never written a review before, let alone a negative one, but the owner seems to have a problem with people of color. When the delivery driver, who was Black, arrived, she turned her nose up at him and whispered something to her coworker. I will never return to this place! My children are innocent and should never have to experience this kind of treatment. If Black people aren’t welcome here, they should just post a sign!
