Bidra med feedbackWe've had some enjoyable meals here in the past, but tonight’s experience was far from what we expected. We ordered chicken pad Thai and chicken lo mein. To our surprise, the pad Thai noodles were a bright pink! There were no vegetables or chicken, just an overwhelming amount of pink noodles. As for the chicken lo mein, which was supposed to include fresh vegetables, there were only two snow peas and barely any chicken. These were the most disappointing two dishes we've ever encountered. Since this was a takeout order, it felt as if they might have taken advantage of the fact that we didn’t inspect our meal before leaving. I don't think we will be returning.
While the visual appeal of this restaurant is impressive, my dining experience left a lot to be desired. Although the grand, castle-like exterior and the beautiful interior details, including a stunning koi pond, are captivating, the food didn't live up to these aesthetics. The prices felt excessive compared to the quality of the dishes, and when we arrived at 6 pm, we were disappointed to learn that sushi was unavailable despite the restaurant's long operating hours. It's unfortunate that the flavors were lacking depth, which created a gap between expectations and reality. On a more positive note, the staff were friendly, although they seemed to favor certain customers, which was a bit unsettling. If you're in search of a restaurant where quality and value are well-balanced, I would recommend the Golden Palace in Norwich. This restaurant certainly has potential, but it doesn't quite meet it.
When we were ready to leave and had placed our tip on the table while packing our boxes, a staff member came over asking for the check. She pointed out the recommended tip section and requested an additional tip. I explained that I was in the middle of packing and would take care of it shortly. It’s quite off-putting to be asked for more tip when the service was lacking. After this experience, I looked at Yelp and found someone who had a similar experience just a month ago, which wasn't surprising. I truly support family-owned businesses, but the service we received today really left a bad impression on our family, and we won't be returning. You’re better off heading to Foxwood, just 20 minutes down the road, for a more enjoyable experience.
Dimsum is only until 3pm. The place can be a bit too loud. The bathroom was unkept and needs an upgrade. The soft shell crab was very good but outside of the dimsum selection.
This restaurant serves the BEST miso soup I've ever had! I've visited multiple times, and the food is consistently delicious. The staff is also extremely friendly. The open floor plan creates a lively atmosphere, which can get quite noisy during busy dinner hours. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, service a 5, and the atmosphere a 4.
