B And Ds Shady Glade Cafe Uncertain

No Longer called B&D's, it changed hands yet again and is now back to just Shady Glade Cafe.

Small town cafe beside the lake. Great breakfast. Good service and large portions. Only open Thursday thru Sunday.

Not as special as it once was. Only 1of 2 restaurants in the area. Better choices in Jefferson, 20 miles away.

We went and had the chicken fried steak , wow!!! Coconut cream cake too !!! So so good

Shady Glade is a nice spot to get a glimpse of Caddo Lake from the shore. It's the launching spot for fishermen and a few tour boats. Oh, and the food at the Cafe is not bad, either. B&D Cafe is in a small cabin at the edge of a marina. Seven or eight tables quickly fill up at mealtimes. The menu is small and basic, with breakfast items, sandwiches, and fried food. The awesome chicken fried steak was large enough to share, if you were so inclined. It was freshly made from scratch. Tender and flavorful. However, a CFS this good deserves better French fries than the ones served here, which were certainly from a frozen bag. Why not fresh-cut fries to go with the freshly-prepared steak? The mashed potatoes, however, were spot on.
