Chaplin's Sports Bistro - Union City

This is a sports bar in an industrial area. Has tables and booths. Also has a full bar with drink service beyond beer. The staff was very nice. Appears to be a locals spot for group lunches. Has a shared parking lot with the other small businesses. I had a take out order of wings that I booked online and a salad I ordered on site when I found out that they don’t serve carrots or celery with the wings. The staff quickly adjusted my order to include the salad. The wings were meaty and well cooked though I’d like the skin crisper with less flab. Service was ok'ish. Nothing to write home about. The food got brought out at different times and was inconsistent when it was brought out. The salad tasted off. I cannot completely put my finger on what was wrong with the wings. The wings did not taste fresh or they were cooked in old oil. For this being a sports bar, probably the worst wings I have had at a sports bar. Philly, was a glop of a mess. Oh and nothing better than generic ketchup. Why does this place have high reviews? Maybe because it's a local restaurant and this is their only option. Although choices are limited, save yourself and go somewhere else.
