Raja Sweets Indian Cuisine - Union City

A gem of a place and one of the bay areas finest Indian mithai shops. It’s no wonder then that so many famous bollywood celebrities like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and many others have visited this place (there are photos on the walls of them visiting). The place has a huge variety of sweets and many Indian families come here during Diwali to stock up on sweets for gifting. Really liked the Jalebi, the variations of carrot mithai, coconut mithai, milk cake and the donut like sweet. Keen to try more. Also the sweets were being freshly prepared as we came in so the quality was excellent. The prices are really reasonable too.

Raja sweets is my first choice for smosa they guys made with red chutney really love it try their food too love it n fresh always. Don't forget to try their jaggery jalebi n deshi gee jalebi

Review for the Desserts at Raja The freshness of the desserts in the glass case are either really good or disappointingly hard and stale. There's no in-between. At $10 /lb for an assorted box of sweets you'd think that they would either make smaller batches or have better quality control. At the most recent visit, luckily only a few of the assorted barfi were stale (4 out of 5 stars). In a previous visit in late 2022, easily 2/3 of the box was inedible (2 out of 5 stars). Average rating: 3 stars I hate to give a poor review but the quality has definitely gone downhill from our first visit in 2019. If Raja makes changes to how they handle their desserts, I will gladly revise the review.

Great place to get your food catered. We had our wedding reception in Fresno, CA and I got a quote from Ravinder Singh at Raja Sweets. He gave us great price for the food and didn't charge anything extra to drive out to Fresno for catering. Wonderful management and always willing to work with you. Very reasonable prices even with last minute menu changes. The food was REALLY REALLY GOOD and everyone loved it. I would 10/10 recommend this place and contact Ravinder Singh for your catering needs.

Tried gur and desi ghee Jalebi not good, missing authentic jalebi taste , not worth the price. Gulab jamun ok ok. Sandwich chamcham ok ok. Overall not so good.
