Bidra med feedbackWe were craving something hearty but healthy so decided to check out this Korean soup house. Overall, good food but perhaps overpriced.Rating Breakdown:1.5/2 Stars for Taste Soup is the name of the game here. My husband ordered the dogani tang (ox knee) while I ordered the galbi tang. The dogani tang broth was rich and you could salt it to taste. It came with a generous helping of tender cartilage/tendon that you could dip in seasoned soy sauce. The galbi tang was very aromatic and I was a huge fan of the date flavor, but my husband not so much because he doesn 't like medicinal soups. The thick cuts of short rib were cooked to fall of the bone perfection. The minus 0.5 stars is for the weak banchan game the fish cake and spinach sides were underwhelming. My Korean husband was also not impressed with the kimchi which he says should be amazing at any soup house worth their salt.0.5/1 Stars for Value We paid $60 with tax and tip for 2 people which seemed steep for what we got. Each dish just seemed about $3 5 overpriced, but maybe that 's the mom and pop shop tax.1/1 Stars for Customer Service The waitress was very friendly and the food came out fast. She also very happily refilled our banchan upon request. No bonus star because I probably wouldn 't go out of my way to come back.
I had no idea Union City had such a great authentic Korean restaurant. My friend took a few of us for a Saturday night dinner last month and he had called just an hour or so before we were set to arrive. Although the restaurant is on the small side, we were able to secure a table. Our group likes to eat and we nearly ordered half the menu to share family style. For me, I liked the Japchae(stir fried glass noodles) and especially the Galbi Jjim(Pork Rib). They also serve you fresh home made Kimchi which is among the top Kimchi I've ever had at a Korean restaurant. Our waitress was very sweet and service was amazing. If you do come here, I suggest you come here with at least a party of 4 so you can enjoy and share as much of the menu as possible.
Oxbone soup in the Bay Area?!? Yes, Please! Now I don't have to trek down to LA for this comfort dish. This quaint little Korean restaurant has a small menu, that packs a punch. We came around 8PM on a Friday and our party of 4 was sat right away.We ordered 2 Oxbone soups, 1 was short rib and the other was sliced meat, Jap Jae and bibimbap. Everything was delish, but the star of the show was the soup. My kids devoured 1 and they even ate the short ribs. That means that it was super delish, as my kids are picky eaters when it comes to meat. The Bibimbap was flavored very well. I didn't have to dentch it with the special sauce, like I would at other places. The Jap Jae had good flavor, but had more onions and Bell Peppers than noodles.I would definitely come back here when craving the soup. On another note, upon ordering the Hot Sone items, the owner came to our table to let us know that the stones were very hot and that she wouldn't recommend our kids eating from it as they can get burnt. That was gravely appreciated, as my daughter was burnt before by a careless waiter at a different restaurant. This shows that this place cares about their customers.
Super friendly staff and delicious food! The ajumma who served us was so kind.We ordered kimchi jeon for our starter and it was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. I also ordered the dogani tang, which is ox knee bone soup. The broth was creamy yet light, and you can season the soup to your liking since they provide salt and pepper on the table. They don't provide too much banchan but I really enjoyed their kimchi and pickles. I think it's one of my favorites so far from any Korean restauraunt.
Rip off. Vegetarian bibimbap made me not want to be vegetarian. Maybe their other dishes are better but I’m not coming back to be disappointed/find out. Bibimbap was the worse I’ve ever had, at that price?! Sheesh
