Mount Tavern - United Kingdom

Update (27/11/09): I returned and found that the pub had run out of lager! Still no real ale, so I ended up having the Smoothpour, which was unpleasant. I ordered the mixed grill (which included lamb chops, chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, chicken wings, fish pakora, etc.), but it took over an hour to arrive. Unfortunately, shortly after getting home, I had a rather unfortunate experience with my bathroom! I’m not sure if I’ll return. Update (April 2011): The restaurant is under new ownership and now offers Caribbean food. I haven't visited yet, but it might be worth checking out again. Update (June 2012): The ownership has changed once more! There’s a mixed menu available now, but I haven't tried it yet.

I used to enjoy having a few drinks here before going out to town. It's a fantastic pub with plenty of seating available. However, I’ve never actually tried the food.

I was passing through Penn and decided to stop at Mount Tavern for a drink. I was impressed by how clean and inviting the place was. Apart from the staff, I was the only customer, but they were incredibly nice and friendly. As someone who is new to the UK and exploring different pubs, I found this one to be quite charming.

Good local pub, lots of regulars and a friendly place. Resonable drink prices. Good seating and smoking area out the back and front. Has an indian kitchen outside great food.
