The restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere. The service is excellent and the food is delicious.

I had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The traditional pub food was expertly prepared. My filet steak was cooked to perfection and very generous in portion size. I regretted ordering a starter, despite it being tasty. The service was very friendly and competent.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch. It is a noisy, shabby, and very very cold place to be. Had to go to the bar to ask if we could order food, after waiting 20 minutes for a server. Ordered Sunday roast, after 55 minutes it had not appeared, not a word from a server or the kitchen to explain why. Everything at the walnut tree is so very tired, right down to the lumps of old foam for sitting on. Never again. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I made a reservation for Sunday lunch but ended up waiting over an hour. The staff never apologized for the long wait, and the restaurant was freezing cold with everyone eating with their coats on. The pub is poorly maintained with dirty and uncomfortable seats. I ended up leaving because the food took too long to arrive. The owner is missing out on a great opportunity, as this is currently the only restaurant in Yalding. If you are trying to support local businesses, I would not recommend this place.
