The server gave us great service with delicious food. We love tacos, and they had some new menu items to experience here. The fish tacos with pineapple got some unique responses, but they were enjoyed. The fish was fresh, and the corn and flour tortillas were perfectly cooked. The burrito was as big as we've ever ordered, an excellent value for the price. Shredded beef is not something we normally order, but the broth it simmered in earned good reviews from the 3foodies. The street corn was a bit strange with a lot of sauce and cheese, but the unique presentation in a Styrofoam cup still tasted alright. Horchata got a 3/5, not tasting bad, just watery. The quesadilla had great flavor and cookedreally well. Guacamole was simple, avocados and a little additional seasoning. Good for dipping. The queso had a good flavor, too. We'd return here. Good value for the food and cost to feed our large family.
It was absolutely delicious!! Fajita chicken quesadillas is the way to go (my favorite) and the frozen strawberry margarita was the best one I've ever had!! Will 100% be dining here again!! If I had my way I'd eat there every night!! Took a min for our waiter to come take our order but once he did it didn't take long to get our food! It wasn't very busy but it was a week night! Well worth the 10 min wait for him to get to us though. My favorite Mexican restaurant by far!! Great job San Marcos of Clanton, AL!!
It's possible. PRICEY! To get chips, salsa and Queso $12.00. I was amazed. Chips and salsa were good; queso was watery and not edible. I believe in 2nd chances, so I'll try again, but I'll eat the next time.
Very good. I lived in some major cities and ate a lot of Mexican food. San Marcos is not the best, but it is pretty good for a small town. I've never had a bad meal. I really can't explain the terrible reviews, but think that my experience is a larger sample group. I probably ate there 10 times and it was always good. It is true that some of the waiters act as if you interfere with them by sitting in their section, but they always offer a good time service.
