Bidra med feedbackWe had an excellent evening here and the biggest reason for that is the restaurant manager Rasmus. One of the most professional persons I 've ever met in the industry. He reads his guests, shares his knowledge (ask him about Sake because that 's your best choice of beverage with this kind of food), goes the extra mile to solve any little problem (like a short wait for a table that turned into one of the highlights of the evening). But more than that if you look closely you 'll see that he also has a hawkeye on the room and will do anything to make the whole operation work smoothly. If he sees plates that need to be taken to the dish room he 'll do. Food ready at the pass waiting to be taken to a table. He won 't tell a server to do it, he 'll take it himself. No prestige. No hierarchies even though this is the kind of restaurant that will always have some less experienced servers, especially in this post Covid age. Guest that is especially interested in Sake, he 'll pull out a special bottle not on the list and offer a glass to the customer. All this in a restaurant that is packed with guests on a Saturday night just after paycheck day. The food itself is just fine and what you expect at a place like this. Nothing earth shattering. But fun to eat even if the kitchen could be a little better at calibrating the chili heat level and frequency. And Melkers tacos have however not stood the test of time since they first showed up a Fredsgatan 12 about 20 years ago. Time to put them out to pasture. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere, music, dark lighting geared towards a fun night out not 2 hours dissecting what 's on the plate. So go to have fun and you 'll leave very satisfied. And don 't forget to try to hook up with Rasmus and let him help you choose some sake for your meal. He 'll make your evening a night to remember.
Wonderful dinner, nice innovative drinks and great venue. However, we didn't receive the white wine we ordered until the 2nd dish. When the wine was received and poured I noticed it wasn't at all chilled to a satisfactory degree (it was just recently put in the fridge). I asked the waiter to chill it a while longer, which she did. That meant we didn't have the wine until the last dish however.
The restaurant is located on top of a building with a good view over the city. Service friendly but could be a bit more attentive. Presentation of the food was very good. It tasted good as well but to our taste most dishes were a bit too salty. That was a pity because the dishes did not need it.
We visited Miss Voon Uppsala for a late dinner and opted for a 7 course tasting menu. I must say the food was very good, especially the tacos, pretty original. Unlike many other places , here the portions are quite generous, so warning, come here hungry to be able to enjoy. The drinks are very good too. The whole setting here is cool, which makes it a perfect place for a numerous occasions , starting from a date and ending with a dinner with colleagues.
Absolutely fantastic meal, and pleasant ambience. The restaurant overlooks the city of Uppsala, dimly lit, but not excessively so with relatively private eating areas. They recommend you have 3-4 dishes for a full meal, which is about appropriate given the size of the dishes. I would recommend at least 4, to get the opportunity to taste as many dishes as you can. I recommend the Wagyu Beef highly, this was the best part of my meal, and a real treat.
