Bidra med feedbackIf you're a bit of a nerd, this place feels like home. The west side has a more relaxed and modern vibe. When I visited, the staff was exceptional. I've been a regular for years, drawn back by the great food and the engaging conversations with fellow nerds. I've learned a lot and forged lasting friendships here. However, I do think some of the rules were a bit strict for younger guests, which might have impacted the atmosphere. After all, keg parties aren’t exactly what you sign up for when paying for a college education! Hendrick House is a haven for curious minds. The Hendrick family truly knows how to manage a dorm. My brother came here four years later and even found his partner. Also, it’s worth mentioning that many of the 1-star reviews seem to be from anonymous accounts without any previous reviews, so I wouldn’t take that negativity too seriously.
You won't find better food in dorms anywhere at the University of Illinois. The East Side dormitories are spacious and, surprisingly, they cost less than what I would have paid for public dorms. I met a lot of nice people, though many tend to be a bit shy and reserved. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay and study near the Engineering Campus, Hendrick House is a great option. Just don't expect the typical public dorm atmosphere.
This restaurant boasts a fantastic location, just a short walk from the Engineering Quad and Illini Union. The food is consistently great, which is a well-established fact. The atmosphere is typically nice and quiet, making it an ideal spot for studying. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the cleaning service adds a lovely touch of luxury. The rooms are spacious and more comfortable than most university apartments. If you have classes in the Engineering Quad, enjoy good food, and prefer a quiet, comfortable living environment without the noise of parties, this is definitely the place for you.
