Bidra med feedbackYummy, fairly priced, hand-made dumplings. I grab the Lamb and Cilantro from the freezer and cook it at my convenience at home. Very basic and small dining area. Cash only.
This unassuming Northern Chinese dumpling specialty restaurant is a diamond in the rough. The owner/chef Francis makes her dumplings fresh daily. Our party ordered the Pork and Cabbage, Pork and Celery and Pork and Peppers; they were all delicious.<br/ <br/ The dumplings were boiled, but she also serves them pan fried and steamed. The filling was flavourful and juicy, but not overly salted. The dumpling wrapper had a nice and firm, but not excessively chewy texture, as the chef expertly cooked her dumplings to perfection.<br/ <br/ We also ordered the Northern Salad, a quick-pickle of sliced bean curd, cabbage, cucumber; the seasonal cold fish, mackerel stewed with tomatoes; and the marinated pork loin, served on the bone.<br/ <br/ To finish our meal, Francis served us 'Dumpling Soup ', which is the water used to cook her dumplings. In spite being half-Chinese, drinking the dumpling cooking water was a foreign concept. Francis explained it is the culture in Northern China to take 'Dumpling Soup ' with your dumpling meal.
Super precious, sweet, nice lady running a one woman show late night. She helped me decide between boiled or steamed pork and chive. The chili was actually spicy enough for me! There's one that is spicier than the other. Big, juicy dumplings for a greatprice.
Absolutely delicious! We enjoyed a few types of dumplings, all pan fried. The pork and fennel was a definite favorite. You can tell everything is handmade. Will be back with friends!
Came here for a quick lunch on New Years Day. The dumplings are very delicious and come in 3 styles when ordering cooked (pan fried, boiled, and steamed. You can also order them frozen to go. We had the cilantro and lamb dumplings, and a vegetarian variety. Both were tasty and fresh.A few things to note if you give this place a try water is self serve and there is no hot tea. Soft drinks can be purchased at an additional cost. The sides are mild in flavour, and I wouldn’t recommend coming to this place for their sides the verdict on them is that they are jus ok. But the star focus is clearly the dumplings.Lastly, the owner is also the chef, and she appears to be very busy on her own so don’t expect legendary customer service. She is friendly enough and that is good enough for us.This is not the place to go for good atmosphere or fancy drinks. This is a dumpling shop. Eat dumplings and then leave.I would recommend this place to dumpling enthusiasts, but not as a place to go with a large group.
