Bidra med feedbackThis place sucks. Sandwich’s sucks. Overpriced. The owner is not very friendly, when complained of product and asked for refund or substitute sandwich stated “I’m in the sandwich making businesses, I can’t give a refund”.
When I first walked into Meat Bread, I kind of scratched my head, wondering what I had walked into. There was a large counter on the right with the large menu hung on the wall. Two guys were working the counter, one was taking...orders and the other preparing the sandwiches, very efficient. The rest of the place is very spartan. It seemed large, but that was because there were few chairs and tables. The tables could each seat to comfortably so I guess it was more for community eating. I'm guessing they do a lot of take out. The walls are bare except for a few pictures. The service was friendly and quick. The food, not the décor was what I came for (it was on Diners, Drive-in's and Dives). The menu was small, but everything looked so good. I settled on the Grilled Cheese. I also ordered a Spicy Dill Pickle and a beer to wash it down, all for under The grilled cheese was very good, nice a gooey. The cheese was a touch bland but perked up with the shaved red onion, and having ketchup on the side didn't hurt. The grilled sourdough toast was perfect. The pickle was nice and crunchy with a little bit of a kick, very good. All in all a great lunch at a great local joint. I would highly recommend visiting if you have the chance. If I ever get the chance, I will return and try the Pancetta.
What happened to the daily specials? They’ve slowly become the weekly special to the bi-weekly special.... The sandwiches are good but this lack of creativity now makes them boring. Basically every shop sells the same sandwiches. While prices are increasing creativity and new sandwiches are...decreasing! Lose lose for us customers. M&B used to be stars in my book lucky to be now. Extremely disappointed.
You can try to tempt me with your daily sandwiches (sometimes it works) but I keep coming back for that Porchetta sandwich... over and over again.
I've gone by so many times and finally decided to try it. Went in around and it was dead, assumes before the lunch rush. I ordered the pancetta, which they are famous for. The bread was good and it tasted decent but for such a small sub, maybe inches at most, I wouldn't be back. Maybe better if you sit in, but almost better places IMO.
