The Samosa Chaat reminded of me of "Pani Puri" sampled in Little India, Cerritos, CA USA.
I'm always on the hunt for non-mughlai Indian food in these parts because, in my mind, it frequently suggests food that doesn't cater to foreign tastes.
My partner and I went to this restaurant a few days ago after reading positive reviews and since we live nearby. The menu was quite limited and there was no choice for spice level. The food was average and not very exciting. Given the abundance of excellent Indian restaurants in the area, we will not be returning to this one.
During my visit on a Saturday just before noon, my dining companion and I were the only customers, so we didn't have to share a table with others. I ordered the Vegetable Korma, which had a delicious cashew cream sauce with a mild spiciness. The dish was filled with shitake mushrooms, cauliflower, beans, and potatoes. The organic chickpea curry was pleasant but less distinctive. Both dishes came with generous portions of basmati rice made from non-GMO grains. Although we were advised against ordering pakoras as well, we still ended up with leftovers to take home. One suggestion for the owners is to offer homemade Naan, as it would complement the curry sauces perfectly. Additionally, it would be great to have the option for guests to choose the level of spiciness in the different curries. I used to enjoy spicy food, but now I prefer milder flavors. The Dahl and Fish curries sounded appealing, but I was worried they might be too spicy for me. When I inquired, I was informed that they couldn't customize the spiciness levels at the time of ordering. Considering the limited menu, it could be beneficial to have two options for each curry in terms of heat levels. I'm sure many customers would appreciate the choice.
