Bidra med feedbackWe love gourmet grilled cheeses so we were excited to try 805. My teens could not decide, so I encouraged them to order one to eat for lunch and order a second later to take home. I ordered a Cuban Ruben. It was nothing more than a grilled Ruben. Tasty, but the bread was over-toasted and cheese was not goey at all. Same with the club and tun melt. All good sandwiches but not what I would consider gourmet grilled cheese. We left without ordering anything to go.
Spent a nice time with my wife over looking the marina and having an old-fashioned and my wife had a twisted orchid. With a side of platano frito. Delicious. Higley recommended by Genaro T. Robles-The Robles Group at RBS REALTY.
?Hurricane blast? was lit. If you like something sweet and strong there you go.
First time in my life eating a Philly on a plain, non grilled, cold bread. Thankfully the meat juice gave it a bit of color, asked the waiter and he defended the kitchen which I respect but I'd appreciate it more if he took a look at the food beforehand. Been here before and had the same order no problem. I said if thats the way the meal was meant to be presented then I'll stop complaining, the table behind me send their food back as I'm writing this review. I'd go somewhere else for a while.
The restaurant is in a picturesque setting along Ventura Harbor. We decided to stop in for a late lunch. We asked for water for ourselves and our dogs, then we ordered drinks and an appetizer while we decided what to have for lunch. They brought our dogs water. It took about 30 minutes to get our drinks and the appetizer. Our water still hadn't arrived. We finally placed our order for lunch. We finally got our water. We waited another 30 to 45 minutes for our food. I had a house salad and asked for balsamic vinaigrette and received strawberry vinaigrette. I usual like Tabasco with my clam chowder but it had taken so long to get our drinks, water and food I didn't want to wait for the server to come back. Fortunately I had a couple of packets of Tabasco in my purse from another restaurant. My daughter's ordered another round of margaritas which took another 40 minutes to arrive. They were watered down and mostly ice. My daughter's were disappointed. The restaurant was initially busy, however as we sat there the restaurant completely cleared out of patrons and new customers slowly arrived. Needless to say we won't be returning to this restaurant.
