Bidra med feedbackWhen the best thing on the plate are the peas and carrots, that’s says it all.. we both ordered the prime rib.. the texture made it almost inedible.. it was almost gelatinous.. the weirdest texture.. Our dog definitely scored on that one.. I also asked for a baked potato with butter and sour cream.. I was served a plain baked potato. So I asked for sour cream and butter.. she brought a new potato filled with cooked bacon and topped with melted cheese.. I really don’t like cheese or bacon in my potato, hence my original order.. so, unless you want to feed your dog a cpl nights of prime rib.. don’t go to the Sierra cafe and order prime rib.. no matter the price, it was inedible Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
We came to this resturant many times over that past 7 years. On this visit, I ordered the blast sandwich with navy bean soup. The soup was very very salty. My sandwich was least to be desired: dry toast with a piece of sad lettuce, some bacon n avocado. Used to serve great tasting food over the years, but this time was terrible. I'll go somewhere else before eating at this place.
Great food. Not sure they know how to pick up the phone for a to-go order. So I don't recommend Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Time for an update..... five years later. We have been coming here for decades. A ritual stop off. Not as good as it used to be based on my last 4 trips this past year. We liked it because the prices were really good. Its diner food that isn 't high quality, think Dennys but when it was inexpensive, it was just fine. Now a lunch for two ends up costing us $40+ after tip that I think I should have just went to Port of Subs inside the gas station. Ordered the nachos because it said with homemade salsa. It was probably the grossest nachos I ever had! The meat looked 5 days old and crispy. The salsa was a Wtf is that! it looked like salad dressing and didn 't taste good either. Cheese was lumpy. Bleh, I could barely eat it. They still have their brick oven pizza on the menu so I would recommend that as it is fresh and made to order. Service is friendly although limited. What I mean is that there is usually no more than 2 people on staff that I am surprised that they don 't have a sign that says, closed due to staffing issues like the coffee shop inside there does. For that reason, I like supporting the small business and will probably continue to stop but it won 't be a MUST do like years past.
However, my meal was just average. The hamburger lacked flavor, and I found myself having to douse it in salt. The mushroom and onion gravy was decent, and it was topped with an egg cooked to medium. I also tried the Bloody Mary, but I wasn't impressed with the mix. Despite the meal's shortcomings, it was filling enough to fuel us for the tasks we had ahead.
