Bidra med feedbackWhat a place! The person at the door identified themselves as the owner, but was not wearing their mask correctly. When I mentioned it, they replied that this is the way they wear it (okay). The next issue was that they did not follow or enforce any of the rules, or use the official requirement to scan your passport (no scan). So if you don't mind risking your health or potentially getting COVID in a place where there is no way to contact anyone in case of a problem, then this is the place for you. Lastly, the food at this breakfast spot was very average.
During our visit to Montreal, my family and I sought out a restaurant in the city. We stumbled upon this place and it exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the food was delicious. It's a hidden gem that I highly recommend trying.
Chez Jackie is one of the most popular breakfast places I should say. We have a few in Verdun but you will always see it packed at weekends until 3:00 when they close. Weekends: do not come to peak times like 11-1...pm either before or directly before closing for something quick. Family ownership and business operations! Fast and cheap breakfast. The average plate will take you around 7$. This is your average toaster bacon eggs at home fries beans toast. I love stopping here during the week in summer, they have a large terrace and the roads not as busy as Wellington does not have too much noise. I love the club sandwiches here and the egg Benedikts.
We went to breakfast in the morning. The place was not very busy so can not comment what transpires when it is busier. I can see why it is busy at very reasonable prices, although very nicely prepared food. Someone has given a lot of thought and care in the offers. We had a white apple crepe and salmon crepe, both really good. The salmon cake was filled with salmon and asparagus... very good value at this price and delicious. IT came with a generous part of crispy potato fields. This is the place I would support if I lived in the neighborhood.
The restaurant is small but clean and very crowded. All the food was cooked perfectly, from the eggs to the bacon, potatoes, toast, beans, cretons, and fruit. They even give you jam at no extra cost. The coffee was from Brossard, which is not my favorite but still a nice way to start the morning. The prices are really good, making this place one of the most popular breakfast spots in town.
