The Pirates Den - Verndale

Eating was decent, service was not. it took more than 15 minutes after sitting before the waitress asked what we wanted to drink or take our order. he's at 7 and doesn't get our food until 8:20. I understand it was pretty busy, but that's ridiculous. was basically ignored for most visits, stopped to ask twice, didn't even get the refill we asked for the second time.

OK. I've waited to write this review for 3 years! Not just because it's close to home! Because I wanted it to be correct and true. We've been there quite a few times in the past 3 years. The food is absolutely great with good prices. Now it's cheaper to eat out than McDonald's. We've had to wait a few times for our table not a big deal because the food quality is there. The staff/waitresses and bartenders have been the absolute best even when it gets to that stressful busy part of the day. Thursday-Saturday seems to be their absolute busiest time's. Thank you for supplying Verndale with such great hospitality!

Love this place!! I live in Baxter, and drive to work at Topls and More 7 days a week. I bypass all other gas stations on my trek to Verndale to enjoy the mini quick trip like setting in Verndale.

If you like your baked potato twice as big as your walleye filet then this is your place. Food tasted good. There just wasn’t much of it. They should say half a walleye filet1 walleye finger tops) $17. Hostess and server were fabulous.
