Buttermilk Cafe - Vernon Hills

I absolutely love this charming breakfast spot. The atmosphere and service are fantastic, and the food is top-notch. The honey butter biscuits are to die for, especially when paired with the delicious berry compote.

Overall, the restaurant is just okay. It is always crowded and seating is close together, making it awkward. The atmosphere is loud and you have to shout to be heard. The design of the shorter roof over the tables just bounces noise back. In colder weather, it can be chilly inside due to the large windows. The food portions are huge, maybe too big, and the pancakes are a bit gummy. Despite these drawbacks, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The sweet biscuits are one of the highlights. It's not the best place for a cozy meal, but more suited for a lively and energetic atmosphere.

Everything at this restaurant looks fantastic and the food we ordered definitely lived up to our high expectations! We are already looking forward to returning and sampling even more dishes from the menu.

Apple Cider Pancakes. Seasonal, so get them now! Best pancakes on earth! They are huge too! My favorite breakfast place in Illinois! Always busy so plan a short wait. Atmosphere is a little loud, so not as good for romantic dates, but def. A must try!

Had the greatest food experience today at Buttermilk. Georgia made the experience even better with allowing me to sample some of the delicious options that I didn't order. Luckily I didn't ruin my diet because she assured me they remove all the calories before bringing out the order. The orange juice was fresh and delicious. And you must try the pork bellies. I will definitely be back here 1000 more times !!!!
