Oak Bay Recreation Centre, Upstairs Lounge

Have been here a couple of times for the Friday night concerts put on by Beacon Ridge Productions but this is the first time I've eaten here. This is such a great venue for a concert. It seats maybe 200 people, you can buy advance tickets for $20, have a couple of glasses of wine [$6.50 each] and have a nice evening out for $40. [I usually walk down and take the bus home so the bus driver is my DD] This time I came with a friend and we decided to go early and have dinner. We both had the BBQ cheeseburger with fries, ketchup served on the side,[$13.95] and judging by the fact there was barely a morsel left, I think we enjoyed our meals! The food is pub grub and while not the greatest burger I've ever had in my life, it was certainly good. And piping hot! The service is very good; line up to order your drinks and food, and you're given a number to put on the table so the runner can deliver your meals. The bar is open during the concert and food is available until the intermission.The doors open at 6, concerts start at 7:30. I advise going early! Give it a whirl! Some really great concerts for not much money and decent food available also. What's not to like?

Perfect for a special anniversary dinner. Although it is on the pricey side, you definitely get what you pay for. The best part was being seated by the window, where we could also see into the kitchen. It was a fantastic experience.

We arrived by boat at the Bay, docked, and spoke with the dock master who informed us that no reservation was needed to dine at The Mansion Restaurant.
