Bidra med feedbackVicki our server was great. Food delicious. Great value on pizza buffet. Chicken Alfredo was delicious. Only criticism would be to cut the lawn I know it probably belongs to the golf course but it takes away from the view the unkempt grass. Other than that restaurant was great. I don't know why more people don't support it. Vidalia needs restaurants like this!
Food had very little taste despite adding salt and pepper to my meal. I've been here on multiple occasions and order the same thing (Rattlesnake Pasta) but this night was off. It was very watery and had no flavor. Also, who I believe is the owner's Fiancé or wife did not want to accept our Groupon because we ordered water. However she accepted it a couple months ago, when we ordered water as well. She denied accepting it the first time and also denied ever serving us. Joe is usually very nice when ever I've visited before and I love his interaction with customers. But because of how short she was with us after I'd already received bland tasting food. I won't be returning.
Arrived as planned at 6 PM for a birthday party with daughter and grandson. The greeter was friendly and seated us at a corner window which was good. Drinks arrived as ordered and soon after we were seated. The waitress explained items and appeared knowledgeable and most helpful. We were given ample time to review the menu. The warm bread loaf served with garlic and olive oil is out of this world; this is such a nice touch as was ample for all four. We placed an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms with light cheese crust on top and were enjoyed to the fullest. Later, not being rushed, we placed an order of 12 pizza with instructions to be one half to be pepperoni and one-half supreme. We received cheese instead of supreme but accepted with an apology by the waitress who wrote the correct order. The two 16 oz. Delmonico steaks were delicious and prepared with great skill. All sides were ample in size and very good. As much care was given to the sides as was given to main entrees. In all, we are fans and will return soon. The owner checked in with us and we did not make a big deal about the pizza as we were so grateful for making us good meals.
I have been meaning to write this review since going last Friday. We went last Friday night and there were only four tables occupied at the time we walked in (7:30pm . My husband and I asked for a table for six as we had additional friends joining us shortly. The hostesses (2 girls had no personality and flopped the menus on the edge of the table. We waited for a waiter/waitress to acknowledge our presence as there were at least three or four that walked by us. (Again, the place was empty. Two more parties of four arrived and were seated and acknowledged by staff. I will say that I had been warned by other friends about the terrible service. It was after that 15 minute time frame that time that we decided to leave. We told the hostesses why and they didn't seem to care. I went to Tarantino's several times back when they were in Reidsville and the food was good at that time but they won't stay busy long with the customer service that we experienced at the new location. Went right in at the next restaurant to friendly service and good food.
Wow, what a surprise in little Vidalia! My wife and I were desperate in the middle of a long drive, late on a Sunday, getting very hungry, glumly aware that there are few options in that part of the state, and that most of the options were already closed. We came across Tarantino's on Yelp and saw that they were open for another hour, so we gave them a shot. The restaurant borders a golf course, and the front patio looks out over a few fairways and a pond the view was beautiful as the sun went down. We elected to eat outside and were treated with very courteous, attentive service by the hostess and our server. The free bread and our glasses of wine came quickly and the free bread is nothing to gloss over! A fresh Italian loaf seasoned with fresh garlic, parsley, butter, and olive oil we scarfed it down with great enthusiasm. For our entrees, I got the shrimp scampi and my wife ordered the ravioli. Both dishes came out quickly and were delightfully rich and flavorful no skimping on the cheese, and olive oil, and minced garlic, and toasted bread crumbs. (Getting hungry again just thinking about it! Towards the end of the meal, Joe, the owner, came out to chat with us and thanked us for choosing his restaurant. It was interesting to hear him talk excitedly about his mission to bring authentic Italian food from Boston to smalltown Georgia. Vidalia is one lucky town because of it! Highly recommended if you're in the area, and certainly worth the trip outside of the city center.
