I've come good things about Sotano and honestly I was a little disappointed. I eat a lot and have expectations for a place to eat well. First, we had a reservation, but there was a bit of strangeness when we came when the nice hostess sat us, the man insisted that we actually had a reservation. It's not like we dressed like Bums or something, I guess he had his reasons, but it was unpleasant. The service was otherwise beautiful. Every meal has disappointed me. The oysters were Blue Point and they were literally tasteless. I think it's time to turn it off. There are so many oysters out there. I had Calamari and I felt it was a little understated and quite cheesy. I also had the Sotano salad, and it was undeniable and Blande. My husband had the lamb and he did it, but was disappointed with everything else. No matter, it is a beautiful place if you do not expect food that is carefully cooked so that it is at its most tasty. One party of four came to an invoice of $300 that was expected. But I also expected the foods to reflect prices.
What a nice culinary experience. The staff was absolutely wonderful for beginners. I went with three guests to taste the restaurant weekly menu and it was not disappointed. The fried Burrata was a hit. The butternut squash soup warm and tasteful. The pollo Classico was a perfect center of crispy and saucy. The flan was also an excellent dessert like the Tiramisu. We look forward to returning.
Each of us four chose different dishes, so we have made many decisions. All were declared very good. It was a very busy night in the restaurant, but the waiting staff handled it very well. We were not rushed. It was a very pleasant culinary experience. I recommend this restaurant.
